I had a professor at art school who told me that every human being time travels on a daily basis. For example: You are walking along somewhere
familiar, it’s a walk you take every day, but today you see someone you know and you wave. When you get to where you were headed and think about
your walk, you might only remember waving to your friend. At the exact moment in the walk when you noticed them, recognized their face or
whatever, and waved, time slowed. your awareness altered time, slowed it down, forced it to accommodate your attention. The rest of the walk was a
blur of accelerated time. To my professor, that little wave, that was time travel.
What I like about that view of time is that it gives us all superpowers. It also, given how time seems to be accelerating these days, makes me want to
  wave at everybody.
